ON Networks Up For Five Webby Awards

ON Networks announced that five of its digital TV shows are finalists and honorees for the 12th Annual Webby Awards. “We’re honored to have the Webby Awards recognize five of ON’s Original Programs out of the large number of entries they received,” says Jen Grogono, chief content officer at ON. “These shows were created by innovative individuals who were able to tap into consumer passions through five totally unique formats.” The shows are:

  • Stump the Chef: One award-winning chef faces down three random ingredients and three tough judges in this punchy cooking-game show that’s part Price is Right and part Iron Chef.
  • Sheltered: Only three to four million dogs and cats in animal shelters ever get to be anyone’s pet. Instead, many are euthanized, because there are not enough homes for them all to be adopted. Sheltered gives these animals a voice and, in turn, hopes for a different kind of outcome.
  • Dinner with the Band: A mash-up of cuisine and indie music, hosted by NYC chef Sam Mason who invites up and coming bands to share an intimate evening of cooking, conversation and performance.
  • Golf Tips with Joe Beck: A virtual driving range, seasoned PGS pro Joe Beck offers golf enthusiasts expert advice on improving their game.
  • The Parent Code: Parents of tots to teens get tips and information on how to save time and money and keep their family safe, healthy and happy.

It’s good to see some Austin companies up for Webbys!
