Pluck Signs Deal With The Guardian
If you don’t live in the UK, you might not know of The Guardian right off the bat. You might think about The Guardian as a newspaper in the UK, but it’s also a huge media conglomerate. Their Guardian Unlimited website has been voted the best newspaper website for the past three years at the Webby Awards and record over 18 million unique visitors in October of 2007. And they’ve chosen Pluck to power the social media side of their website.
Pluck’s SiteLife product is used by major media properties such as The Economist, The Washington Post, and Reuters. It provides tools for social networking on the sites of the large publishers, such as sharing videos and photos, forums, ratings and reviews, and commenting. This new deal with The Guardian is wildly huge by any measure. Dave Panos, CEO of Pluck says, “The Guardian has an unsurpassed reputation both for editorial trust and online innovation. We are very proud and eager to deploy SiteLife’s social media capabilities as a cornerstone of The Guardian’s online future.”
