Austin Companies in “Going Green 100″

The AlwaysOn Network announced their first annual GoingGreen 100 list of the hottest private companies in greentech. They are trying to feature companies with "game-changing" technologies that make it possible for big businesses to go green. The winners list also goes on to note that greentech has become the 3rd largest investment class for venture capital.

Companies were highlighted in several categories. The Austin companies that made the list include:

  • EESTore in Energy Storage
  • Heliovolt in Solar
  • TechTurn in Waste Management

HelioVolt recently raised $78M to begin building it’s manufacturing plant, as predicted by Steve Guengerich just a week before. Jeff Zeigler from TechTurn won an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award earlier this year. EESTor has been the hottest Austin green news of the year after the announcement of their super capacitors. Blog traffic about EESTor has gone crazy in the past week, and it has been one of the top rising searches on Google.
